A Parfleche is a rawhide carrying case often decorated with geometric designs. They were made and used by nomadic Plains Indians to hold clothing, personal items, and tools. My interpretation of the original Parfleche is made of heavy canvas, with designs based on colors and patterns used in the original Parfleche. They are beautifully contemporary in style and made to hang on your wall as a unique piece of art. When ordering remember that all of these Parfleche wall hangings are hand painted, one of a kind interpretations of the original envelopes. Sizes and embellishments will vary.
